The white-washed oak has just enough grain showing through to keep it from looking flat, and it makes the colors in my needlepoint pop without stealing attention. Swapped out the cheap plastic frame I'd been using and the difference is honestly night and day.

Wasn't sure a plain frame would do much for the piece my grandmother stitched, but the solid oak gives it real weight and it sits perfectly flat on the wall. The 4x6 opening fits the design exactly with no mat needed.
